As a seller, I had the opportunity to participate in the February sale from the 18th to the 21st, where I was able to offer discounts on several assets. Now that the event has concluded, I can honestly say that this sale was incredibly underwhelming. Despite offering some of my best-selling products at discounted prices, the sales performance was no better than on a typical day. It seems that the buyers may not have even been aware that a sale was happening.
One major issue appears to be the visibility of the sale itself. The FAB front page lacks engagement, with the sale banner easily going unnoticed. Additionally, the event was far too short, wrapping up before many customers even had the chance to see it. Overall, it feels like the marketing efforts for this sale were insufficient, Epic may have cut down a lot on FAB marketing budget and it shows.
For comparison, if you visit the Unity Asset Store, there’s always events going on there, you’ll immediately notice prominent sale events featured on the homepage. Anyone who visits can quickly spot the ongoing promotions. Unfortunately, FAB’s approach is much more subtle and needs substantial enhancement in terms of marketing visibility and timing.
Hope to see improvements in the next events.
