when cleaning meshes by selecting and filtering, I often have issues with the lasso or any other selection tool, as they are not that accurate to begin with. Most of the tome, I want to select any border polygons that show the sky so they have a very specific color range and I was hoping for the implementation of a “Select by Color” tool. Where you pick a color in the viewport, give it a threshhold and RC would do the rest. That way, I could simply pick the color of the sky and be done with my cleanup.
Just wanted to ask if this feature has been even considered? It is bugging me to no end, that it isn’t there yet and considering that you should be able to access the data of the mesh vertex color and evaluate a selected color within a given RGB threshhold, it should then be possible to select all vertecies that match the picked RGB range. I don’t pretend to be a developer and I know nothing about programming, but I do know, that this should be not too hard to implement.
If you had to spend hours on end, manually selecting triangles that show white, overexposed sky in order to clean your scan and you had to do this every time, you would understand where a feature like that might come in handy.
