The specific problem we are facing is that the animation grabs several parameters from the game state, some directly and some through accessor methods. However, some time will pass between the character mesh manually being ticked (which grabs the values from accessor methods) and the animation evaluation task running (which grabs the remaining values). Between those, the game logic continues executing, causing a de-sync. Depending on what you’re doing, the desync may result in small or very severe errors in the animation.

How are you ‘manually ticking’ the animation? It is unusual to tick only the event-graph style logic independently of the graph itself.
