Would love to have an alternative menu that would shows up when right clicking the Verse button or by pressing a 3 dot dropdown. This could show “Build verse code” and “Open Verse in VSCode”.
FYI there is this dropdown:
Just wanted to mention it in case, but I can also see the benefit of having access to it from the more prominent button as you suggest.
Hi:
We’d love to hear more feedback regarding this. Is there a specific reason you would prefer having an explicit button for building Verse locally within the editor, as opposed to relying on the hotkey (default is [Ctrl] + [Shift] + B
?)
Hey there!
Here is some feedback regarding this:
-
The hotkey is good to have, however, I find it awkward needing to search for all 3 keys every time I need to compile (
[Ctrl] + [Shift] + B
just feels awkward to press, for me at least). -
Trying to locate the “Build Verse code” feels like a challenge. I tend to press the Build tab pretty often only because instinctively I would assume the button would be located inside there.
-
The Verse button is another button that I tend to press pretty often. I always assume that the button is used to build scripts, but I quickly realize that it only opens VSCode. I also think rewording the button to say “Open Verse Code” would be a nice QoL change to avoid accidentally clicking it.
-
Outside of using the hotkey, I personally feel that compiling a script should just be a one-click process. I shouldn’t need to navigate and look for the Verse button to compile a small change. The idea of a simple compile button would be more beneficial and increase workflow when dealing with verse.
