Hi everyone,
I have been following Twinmotion since before it became part of the Epic Games universe and integrated the power of Unreal Engine. First off, I want to compliment the team on the incredible development over the years. Both the UI and the photorealistic quality of the real-time visualizations are outstanding.
However, there is one essential point that still prevents me from adopting Twinmotion into my professional workflow: the lack of 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse support on Mac.
I have used the SpaceMouse for many years; it has effectively become an extension of my hand. It is now a deciding factor in the software I choose for creating images and animations for my clients. The speed and precision it offers in navigation—especially in tight or awkward spaces that are hard to reach with a standard mouse—are indispensable once you are used to them.
Currently, I use Enscape (for SketchUp) for architectural visualization and Autodesk Fusion 360 for product design, specifically because of their flawless integration with 3Dconnexion.
Here is the core of my request:
I also use Unreal Engine for 3D visualizations, and I was pleased to verify that the 3Dconnexion plugin works perfectly on both PC and Mac.
Since Twinmotion is built on Unreal Engine, how is it possible that 3Dconnexion support for Mac has been stuck in the “Under Consideration” phase on the Roadmap for so long, while it is already available for the PC version?
It seems unlikely to be a major technical hurdle, given that the underlying engine (UE) already supports it natively on macOS. It feels more like a matter of prioritization.
Please, I kindly ask you to move 3Dconnexion: Mac support to the “In Progress” status. I genuinely want to switch from Enscape and move all my real-time visualization tasks to Twinmotion, but this is a deal-breaker for me.
Thank you for listening!
