Fears, be gone! - Graduation Project

OVERVIEW

‘Fears, be Gone!’ is a 3D puzzle-platformer game where the player takes the role of a little teddy bear named Mr. Snuggles who is inside the dream of a 7 year old kid named Joe. The main goal of Mr. Snuggles is to defeat the shadow monsters who are haunting Joe’s dreams so that it does not turn into a nightmare.

However, the shadow monsters can only be defeated using shadow weapons. Mr. Snuggles must use switches on the floor to align lights in a way that they cast shadows of weapons.

KNOWN ISSUES

Since this is a student project fuelled only by caffeine, instant noodles and passion, our game still has a lot of bugs and we apologize for that.

Here is a list of some of the major known issues and their workarounds:

 • [Optimization] Boss Level has extreme fps drops (~ 15-30 fps)
 • [Anim] While climbing, the teddy might sometimes get stuck in an animation loop. In that case, please press ‘R’ to restart from the last checkpoint.
 • [Level Streaming] After going to the main menu using the journal, it is not possible to load any more levels. In this situation, please close the game completely and load again.
 • [Shader] Sometimes, the decals for the shadow puzzles don’t render after the shadow puzzle is solved.

TEAM DETAILS

‘Fears, be Gone!’ is our graduation project, developed completely from scratch by a team of 5 Game Designers including myself and 2 Game Artists. The total development period was roughly 2 semesters (8 months). We are recent graduates from Rubika Supinfogame in India.

Thank you,

i played it this morning, via steamlink… i like how everything just worked with my ps4 controller… but i had to give up after the 3rd-ish level… which involves platforming from a ledge onto a cube and then across to a chair up another cube… its like the holding onto the edges of the objects after a jump is not consistent, or is not explained thoroughly enough, and after about 5 fails i just gave up… I think the game is really promising, i like everything how you can run jump move use the light, but the platforming and holding onto ledges seems “broken” (at least thats the language a twitch-streamer would use) congratulations on all of it still, it looks great, i think if you guys tweak that platforming part a bit you have something great there …

Thank you so much for trying the game out and your feedback. Yes we had a lot of problems with ledge grabbing and we might fix it in the future if we have the help of an actual programmer. It was a student project we made for our graduation with a team of only game designers and artists.

Can we get the PC controls compatible build sometime? Want to play it, but don’t have the controller :frowning:
Looks beautiful btw
