FBX Smoothing Problems

Hi I’m using Mixamo Fuse to try to make some characters for a school project and as you can see here it doesn’t really look good:

Can someone help me?

Would you mind telling me what file type you are using for this mesh, i.e. .FBX 2013 or 2014 or .obj?

I don’t know about 2013 and 2014. There is fbx for unity and unreal engine 4 and I chose unreal. When I downloaded it from mixamo.

Would you mind providing me with the location in which you downloaded the character asset?

Our documentation states that you might experience issues using a different file version other than .FBX 2014 as this is what we use when creating content.

FBX Skeletal Mesh Pipeline

You can always download a free trial version of 3ds Maya or Max, or if you are a student, you can get a free copy with a student email address. You could import the asset you are having problems with, and re-export it from one of these Autodesk programs as an .FBX 2014 file.
