FBX models importing incorrectly?

Hello, I am quite new to Unreal Engine so I am sorry if the solution is simple.

Whenever I try to import a model as an FBX the model becomes very low poly and I cannot figure out why. However whenever I import it as an OBJ the model is completely fine. I will need to use the FBX format in the future so I can import animations, so can anybody help me? I use the default import preferences.


Whatever 3D program you use you need to make sure that smoothing groups are enabled (or whatever equivalent is used)
