FBX Import Options dialog are missing

There is issue occurring when importing fbx file with the same name as existing asset, doing this fbx import options dialog will not appear.

Version Tested: Issue occurs started from 4.17

  • 4.16.3 - CL: 3561208
  • 4.17.2 - CL: 3658906
  • 4.18.0 - CL: 3709383
  • 4.18.1 - CL: 3754814

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Import fbx file and in the fbx import dialog click “Import”
  2. Import same fbx file to the same folder and in the message click “Yes”

Result: Object reimport itself.

Expected: FBX Import Options dialog pop-up.

Hello XIME,

Thank you for submitting a bug report. This is a feature that you can enable in the editor preferences, under the option labeled “Show Import Dialog at Reimport”. This should allow the window to show up again when you reimport

thank god
why do you guys make this so cryptic ?
tons of people answer there is an option somewhere to reimport with the dialog
it’s obviously gone
