Whenever I migrate assets around or create new project with starter content I only get uassets file… Is there no way to get my hands on .FBX files so that I can edit them?
Right click on the file you want and go “Asset Actions” -> “Export”
This works, thanks. But while exporting animation assets I can only export the animated skeleton alone or the skinned mesh… Also, shouldn’t I be able to get several animation s on a single timeline?
Nope … it doesn’t work like that. The export function is intended to help you modify existing assets in your project and is not your primary pipeline. The assumption here is that you will have art in a source format, you will export it as FBX format, and you will import it in to your project.
If the animations were not imported on one timeline you won’t be able to export them as one timeline. You are in essence using the Art Pipeline in reverse and hence you are having these issues.
