I thought I had gotten lucky, but I guess not. Upon importing a custom character mesh and trying to place a skeleton with A.R.T., Maya has suffered from fatal errors twice in a row this morning. This occurs every time I attempt to place a skeleton for my model. Is there a way around this?
The steps I followed were:
- Import character FBX
- Run “Character Rig Creator”
- Rotate character to be aligned with the Z axis
- Freeze transformations
- Accept default settings and place skeleton
This is when the crash occurred. I have the log files if they would be helpful.
