oof where to start
well first off I’ve added my google drive folder link on here with pictures of everything I’m talking about. That said…
I have this free space ship mesh I got off of Substance
now i have the spaceship big enough to accompany interior rooms i also downloaded off substance
along with a free Gideon mesh for my 3rd Player Controller off Marketplace.
So i put this collision on Gideon, the ship, and the room and then starting testing out the physics on all of them. Needless to say none of it is working, I’m new to this whole thing, and have no idea how to just get my imported characters to either stay on the ground or not fall through it, let alone what i’m supposed to do with my static mesh spaceships/rooms. Also before I hear, i’ve also tried simplistic/complex and both collisions on the ship and the rooms… even just put a plane in there and still i fall through… Halp
It will be collsion. If you enable collision view ( see below ) your spaceship needs to look the same shape as in normal view, otherwise it wont work. Also, did you add a collision capsule to the player?
not sure what the teal means as far as collision goes or how i’m supposed to add any of the collisions you’ve mentioned. I’m pretty sure the character has a collision capsule because it’s just a duplicate of the 3rd person controller blueprint so that said i’m really bad at this stuff so far and don’t know how to alter it or what it would even mean
Ok, ship looks fine. I can see the collision capsule in the player, but apparently you have changed it’s collsion setting to ‘character mesh’, usually it’s 'pawn. Give that a go.
so it has the blue and green lines and I saved. now what? does it automatically add that collision when I save it or do I have to hit an apply somewhere?
I can see you only have simplex collision enabled, can you show me the pic from the mesh editor when you have ‘use complex as simple’ on?

Ok, if you put the character in a default level, does it fall through the floor?
that did the trick, now my character just stands in place and looks around now so have to figure that part out now
the original conflict has been resolved ty so much everyone, gonna shift over to the next problem now
I think your spaceship has no collision. When you set ‘use complex as simple’ and tick show collision, you should see blue lines:
