I’m working on a VR project and want to create some sort of “local fog” effect to partially hide objects inside a compartment. The goal is to make part of the compartment appear darker so that the contents are barely visible.
Currently, I don’t have any post-process volume in the level, and adding one would likely impact performance. Implementing an actual volumetric fog solution would be even heavier for VR, so I’m looking for alternative approaches.
Has anyone tried faking local fog or a similar effect in VR?
All tips, tricks, or lightweight methods would be appreciated!
