Failed to load map?

Hi guys! My friend recently sent me his game’s project, and when I try to load it up, I get this error: “Failed to load map!
<path>.umap is a UE4 map [File:v498], from an engine release newer than this [Cur:v482].”

I’m guessing that this means I have an outdated version of Unreal, but what version exactly do I need to load this?

EDIT: I’m using Unreal Engine 4.10.2 right now.

Yes, probably the reason why it wont load and shows an error about the engine version.

If you intend to upgrade make a backup of your existing project, just in case.

I thought 4.10.2 was the latest version though? It says that the file version is “v498” and I’m not sure what that is, but it’s a higher number than mine, so what version is he using?

Bump. I figured out that the version is 4.11 but when I launch it with 4.11, it tells me “You do not have any debugging symbols required to display the callstack for this crash.” I also crash and get this same error when trying to load he assets from the game into any other 4.11 project.
