My computer has installed all the engine dependency runtime library, but I still can not run the Epic Games Launcher.then I use Dependency Walker to search which dll is missing. The consequence said that i fail to open file
API-MS-WIN-APPMODEL-RUNTIME-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ERROR-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ROBUFFER-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-STRING-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-SHCORE-SCALING-L1-1-1.DLL
DCOMP.DLL
GPSVC.DLL
ICUIN53.DLL
ICUUC53.DLL
IESHIMS.DLL//IE dll, but I have installed IE 11
LIBCEF.DLL
I think it should be a install error, and I reinstall the Epic Games Launcher.
but the problem still exist.
and I found the directory “/Epic Games/Launcher/Portal/Binaries/Win64” only have a exe, no any dll.
the directory “/Epic Games/Launcher/Engine/Binaries/Win64” is same.
I have installed visual studio 2012, and my computer is Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
There are only exe files in my "/Epic Games/Launcher/Portal/Binaries/Win64, folder as well, mine is now working so I don not think that is your problem.
any logfiles would be helpful.
The exe file could not start. it can’t create any log file
ah sorry about that. Did not understand it from initial text.
looks like you are missing an Assembly or some files have not been registrered correctly/completly.
Take a look at the answers in this post [fail to start Epic Games Launcher] (Unreal Engine Launcher not starting (w/ Dependency Walker info) - Getting Started & Setup - Epic Developer Community Forums)
If that does not help i have found several posts elsewhere about similar problem. It looks like they all fix it by reinstalling one Assembly or the other. Some fix it With Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 or C++ assemblies.
ok, I’ve solved my problem. Thank you
I’ve solved my problem.
Because my computer was bought three years ago,I don’t have c++ runtime library 2013.
And many program are designed for old system version, so I didn’t find the lost of newest c++ runtime library.
