[Facial animation] Is it possible to create referencable Control Board data for use in a level sequence?

Hi All,

Question regarding the facial animation pipeline and the storing of data.

Normally I work in maya, but the situation demands i have a backup plan for fine detail work in UE5.7+.

I have a level sequence where I need multiple takes of animation data.
Usually this process would mean baking down control board data to anim.uassets skeleton expression curves, then deleting the face control board and then referencing the data into the face track.
This animates the face directly and means you can have different takes.

I’m looking for a method of doing the same, but keeping the Control board and referencing data onto it.

To clarify, I need a way of using the control board on referenced data and NOT as a layered additive setup.

Anyone got an idea?

I’m fine with theoretical solutions too, I have a few code wizards behind me who might pull something out of the aether with suggestions.
