I been looking all over the internet for someone to break down how to make a facial control for a custom character using control rig thats not a meta human. I use alot of characters out of daz studio that comes with a full bone structure for the face but I cant find anyone showing how to make one. I want to be able to do animations in unreal engine for the face without having to swap a meta human head ontop of my character body. the only thing I can find is Echo from UE5 tech demo project that has a face rig but I have no idea how its put together. I am also doing this for a short film in unreal engine, so I am using the sequencer. would anyone have any recourses I can look at to put this together?
I still cant find anything anybody?
well I guess I might be stuck doing facial animation in blender then retarget in unreal, I still cant find any real information on setting up facial rig using control rig maybe some day the devs will make something for people to understand
I’m having the same issue. It’s unbelievable that no one thinks of finding a solution to this. One option would be CC4 and iClone 8, which do the job but cost a fortune and are a pain for Mac users like myself who have to pay extra for Parallels (I’m not sure that Parallels would actually run Reallusion).
There is this Chinese guy who created a plugin for Maya that apparently solves the problem. The plugin, however, costs about 500 bucks a year and Maya is ridiculously expensive. Here is the plugin:
Why don’t the Epic developers just develop something like this? Or at least offer us better characters than metahumans with their sorry bodies and cheesy underwear.
