What’s up with the lack of moderation? There are stores entirely populated with ripped outfits from AAA titles like this Leon S. Kennedy’s RPD uniform from RE 4 Remake:
And there’s currently no way to report copyright infringement without being the copyright holder or operating on IP holder’s behalf. Unsuspecting customers buy these ripped outfits which hurts both the asset creators (less sales) and the customers.
Hey there @GritForm3D! Those folds definitely seem like the models were ripped and cleaned up. I will see if I can notify the appropriate team. While the DMCA report option does require you to be the IP holder, you can still report the assets for breaking the terms of use in the meantime.
As I suspected, it’s been over a week now and that seller is still listing ripped outfits (simply flipped in x axis and called something else) from popular game characters.
The latest one is James Sunderland’s outfit from Silent Hill 2 Remake:
Fab and Epic employees don’t care about stolen content or implementing a proper verification method. I complained about this months ago and it looks like nothing has been done about it.
They want people to sell content in the Fab store but they make it really difficult for honest people to get their own products submitted. But the scammers have absolutely no issues with posting stolen content.
@SkyeEden Is there no prevention for this? Selling assets from licensed and well known IPs should be prohibited unless the person selling them can provide proof of licensing ownership.
Just having some of this stuff on the Fab store is enough to potentially stir up legal issues for Epic.
