FAB sales are a bit suspicious

Interesting. This is my sales report stating earnings slightly above $100. The report shows sales from launch till this date of this post.

But above says total earnings haven’t exceeded $100. In fact its hangs at $41.95 and haven’t received my first payout. Anyone having the same issue of inconsistent payout data?

Your earnings from December 2024 will be sent at the end of January 2025.

The payout dashboard can sometimes be buggy(for displaying correct information) like so many things from fab.

*Exception is only for December where even if you get <100$, you will still be paid that amount on end january.

Hi Folks,
Avi here, from the Creator Success team :wave:

I wanted to jump in to assure you that we’re actively looking into this and closely monitoring sales performance.

Looking at the data, we see some sellers are experiencing a drop in sales, while others are seeing year-over-year growth. With more sellers coming together on Fab from Sketchfab, Unreal Engine Marketplace and other marketplaces some variance is expected, but we are going to keep digging into this so we can ensure we are continuing to make updates that benefit the entire community.

In terms of what’s next, our highest priority product work is focused on search and discovery, improving the accuracy and quality of results. As part of this work, we’re incorporating new data points—including historical and new sales performance—and tweaking the weight of these signals to help the community find what they’re looking for.

We’re also introducing a wishlist feature for buyers, bringing back the individual sales feature soon, and driving more users to Fab in 2025 with additional marketing investments. These updates should have a positive impact across the whole community.

Thank you for your patience and for sharing your feedback. We’re hoping to release these new updates to search in the coming weeks – stay tuned!

Sales also almost completely died out for us. It started decent - in November we had 32 units sold along with few professional licences, in December 27 units, but the sales completely died after December 13th with only one unit sold between Dec 13th and 31st. With January now almost over we sold whole… 2 units.

If this trend is to continue then I’m afraid FAB isn’t a platform worth spending time and effort on and we would be better off with a store just dedicated to Unreal Engine. Right now discoverability seems very poor, search results continue to be odd and good quality assets are just buried under tons of sketchfab models and AI generated junk.

Why are you copy-pasting the same response in multiple, different forum discussions?

That makes it seem like you are not actually taking our concerns serious.

This got me so frustrated i didn’t even want to reply to it when i saw that perfect PR style response with a carrot of ‘working of on wishlist’ which isnt even mark on the roadmap as InProgress.

I also don’t get it when they said ‘it expected to have low sales during a merge marketplace’. Isnt UE Marketplace only for unreal engine audience and SketchFab for another audience ? clients in UE marketplace are still the same client looking for unreal engine assets and yet there a decrease in purchase for unreal engine assets now. How the math works here ? Can you guys(fab team) take a moment and read the latest thread on reddit about fab.

Their priority should be:

  • :zap: AI Content (category ?, default view ?, warn sellers who don’t label their product AI ?)
  • :zap: Fix purchasing product, users don’t have to trial error different card to pay an item(this is still the case on reddit)

Make an actual user feedback: reading user main concern on reddit and this forum.
Then a team meeting and remake their priorities instead of just making a roadmap just for the sake of it. It needs to be agile…

I am not a seller on here however, I do purchase from UE Marketplace and tried to purchase on FAB. I must say that FAB has done you creators a tremendous diservice by providing a lack luster and in many times frustrating experience for potential buyers like myself with their new store. The search and filter system is broken and riddled with AI slop and or things you are not even searching for. Everything populates on 1 page that resets when going back causing you to scroll for an hr back to where you left off. I digress however, I am pointing this out as a potential buyer who turns away because of these issues and not giving you the sale.
Long story short, your lack in sales is not just due to AI but all sorts or bad buyer experiences as well.

Just a feedback from an old user which has over 3000 spent on marketplace.
Prices on fab have been doubled if not up to ten more (professional version) while before we had one license (and infact we feel a bit robbed about this);
No review so I can’t know how a product will perform;
No wishlist;
Almost no more sales : add the prices’s problem and you have clearly a recipe for a disaster;
Also: we are going to release our game on 4.27 while everyone is almost move to ue 5 (even if some assets doesn’t have any noticable improvment) so the seller offers is basically dimiushed
Hope this can help

Here’s another feedback from me that has probably spent well over 4500 on the marketplace :

-For me, the Biggest offender is the flood of low Quality assets since fab has launched, overflowing the good gameplay templates, tools, and systems assets. It feels like it’s getting way way harder to find the good little gems and diamond in the rough that existed on the marketplace before.

-The absence of the wishlist really makes it a thousand times harder to keep the interesting assets that you will occasionally find in the freezer for later / sales, when Epic want you to have no “markers” anymore on the assets you would have been interested into, so you can’t even “save” the long results of your search in the marketplace anymore to check them out at a later date when on sale or a rebate.

-Like others said, there is an incredible amount of extremely low effort assets flooding now the market, and in all sectors, while there was mid quality assets or templates / tools and whatnot by the past, that even if they were mid tier quality still offered something interesting and would pick a few from time to time, now it’s litterally flooded with absolute low level noob tier blueprints or mechanics, unusable and frankly uninspired terrible ai art, icons, portraits, flooding the marketplace, the marketplace is also assaulted with blueprints and assets that were present and taught in unreal engine’s past tutorials themselves.

Also, because the written reviews don’t exist anymore since Fab launched i became extremely cautious and more defensive in my purchases of assets because of this low quality flooding of the marketplace, you can’t trust it like you used to be able to trust the marketplace before it was transformed into FAB.

This is just ridiculous. Epic is loosing the trust of sellers and of many customers here.

This all feels like purposefull enshittification, but for what end exactly ? Never in my life i would have thought Epic could step this low with their marketplace, as it felt much better then the unity asset store for the last few years, now it’s just much worse then the unity asset store.

Some positive points

. I did notice bookmarks appear the other day. They’ve been pulled again now, but maybe that’s in the works.

. Keyword search does work now. But you can’t sort by anything after that ( publish date would be good ).

But two things we really need:

. Reviews

. The ability to filter out vendors ( that would really help with the torrent of crap ). There’s some really nice assets getting drowned in that torrent… and that’s not going to lead anywhere good.

Yes! I totally agree. The prices are now ridiculous and sales no where to be found.
