Here’s another feedback from me that has probably spent well over 4500 on the marketplace :
-For me, the Biggest offender is the flood of low Quality assets since fab has launched, overflowing the good gameplay templates, tools, and systems assets. It feels like it’s getting way way harder to find the good little gems and diamond in the rough that existed on the marketplace before.
-The absence of the wishlist really makes it a thousand times harder to keep the interesting assets that you will occasionally find in the freezer for later / sales, when Epic want you to have no “markers” anymore on the assets you would have been interested into, so you can’t even “save” the long results of your search in the marketplace anymore to check them out at a later date when on sale or a rebate.
-Like others said, there is an incredible amount of extremely low effort assets flooding now the market, and in all sectors, while there was mid quality assets or templates / tools and whatnot by the past, that even if they were mid tier quality still offered something interesting and would pick a few from time to time, now it’s litterally flooded with absolute low level noob tier blueprints or mechanics, unusable and frankly uninspired terrible ai art, icons, portraits, flooding the marketplace, the marketplace is also assaulted with blueprints and assets that were present and taught in unreal engine’s past tutorials themselves.
Also, because the written reviews don’t exist anymore since Fab launched i became extremely cautious and more defensive in my purchases of assets because of this low quality flooding of the marketplace, you can’t trust it like you used to be able to trust the marketplace before it was transformed into FAB.
This is just ridiculous. Epic is loosing the trust of sellers and of many customers here.
This all feels like purposefull enshittification, but for what end exactly ? Never in my life i would have thought Epic could step this low with their marketplace, as it felt much better then the unity asset store for the last few years, now it’s just much worse then the unity asset store.
