Fab Roadmap priorities

First of all, I have been following Feedback and bug section of forum for a while and problably I know what most people need. Since I’m also a software developer, I know some of these requests should not take more than few days of work to be implemented but are being delayed by other features even though they are more frequently requested.

I have looked at Fab Roadmap and thought some items that should be prioritized are way back in the todo list and with current development speed of the team probably will be implemented somewhere around mid summer next year.

I think most people will agree with me that following should be implemented immediately and then the rest come after.

  1. Search Exact match:
First, if someone doesn’t know the correct dictation of the word, they can use google to find the correct word. When I search for Stylized I exactly looking for that word and not stylish Mystified or pistol or resized it should be searched in filename, developer name, asset name and its text and that’s all. This will help me to find an asset (e.g. omDf30) that I have in my project but can’t remember its complete name but need to re-download it due to corrupted file, for example.

  2. Remove infinite scroll:
This was requested in at least 50 other forum posts too. It is not helping anyone. If I can see 24,36,50, 100 items in one page, then I don’t need refining the search with AND, OR, ‘XOR’ or NOT, I can just press Ctrl-F in my browser and refine my search. This can be achieved if I could have a brief description of the item and show them as list with asset name, name of developer, … At least, this is how I do it in Youtube.
The way this is currently implemented, browser search is useless, because developer is removing the items from previous page and replacing them with items from current page :man_facepalming:.

  3. Filter Bar:
Entire filter bar is just a Tag list, Why would it need 8 Tasks? You just need to list all tags for an item in a long list and let me chose which one to show. Tags can be Engine version, File Type, Creator name …, and I can choose multiple tag and tell Filter to must have all or any of them then search list will be filtered on client side. It can be done in just a single task and IMO should be the 3rd task in the list. To be honest, if I have the Exact match, I won’t ever need to Quick Filter either (All the items in second colum).

  4. For items in 4th column regarding sorting, I need the same sorts I previously had in Market Place, sort by purchase date (default) sort by price, … and sort by name, then I can do the rest by pagination.

  5. Zoom for Images and default to Image first then 3d View. 3d View is very annoying in lack of zoom. (I know it exist and you can press F or double click the thumbnail but not everyone knows this) I rather be able to double click on the image and zoom it. some of 3d views take forever to load and when they load, I realize it is not what I need and I would know this by just looking at its bigger image instead of waiting for a minute to find out. If a creator do not upload an image, I guess you could create one yourself for them by default. What you show in 3d View is nothing like what they look in Engine itself, so looking at them is just waste of time in most cases.

Dear developer if you are reading this: For tags filtering, this is how I implemented for my own system, and for your system would be like this. Tags would be engine-unreal, engine-unity engineversion-5.4, engineversion-5.3, engineVersion-10.3, style-stylized, style-realistic, creator-quixel, creator-unreal then when showing in filter list, you will show them by grouping them with their first word of tag and caption them as such, so all starting with engine will go under Engine all starting with style will go under Style … and the list will be created dynamically on the fly. For file types, size and price, no tag is needed, that data already should exist in the asset record.

I did forget about wish list which is beneficial for both Creators and users. I have used this list as a base point to find my favorite sellers by adding an item from their assets so I can visit them frequently for new assets. Now I’m missing this list and don’t know how can I get them back. There was announcement that saying I could get my list as PDF by emailing someone in UE. That post should’ve been stickied to top, but it is not, I hope someone can tell me where to find it.

This sales period, I didn’t purchase anything, since my budget is limited and I prefer to purchase what I have prioritized in my favorite list and since, I don’t have access to it at the moment, I rather keep the money for the time that I do have access to it.

As a seller I can add a few more things that should be top priority:
Text Reviews and seller-initiated discounts.

It’s crazy that in 2025 we can’t set our own sales on such a big marketplace and don’t have basic text reviews.

Agreed, Since they were asked for in another posts, I didn’t add them again here.
It should not be an Item at the bottom of the 6th column!
Text review, Q/A are important to decide if I want to purchase an item.

Thanks for that feedback! I’ll pass it on to the team.
