I had this same problem but realised if you select “Unreal Engine” when you search (don’t just hit Enter), you get the option to filter by engine version:
Used to be Find Asset in Megascans > Select Quality > Download > Import. Done. Now I gotta open a browser, sign in, figure out how the FUDGE to sort by Megascans, download random .zip file, no idea where to dump it. Completely stupid. This company has failed and ruined work flow for millions. I can’t wait to switch to Unity
I can’t buy anything, nor can I add anything to my cart. “Wasn’t able to add product to your cart” error. So I’m suspecting no one can even purchase things reliably.
I completely agree. The Fab seller portal has been plagued with errors, and in the last 30 days, I’ve had to contact support multiple times. To make matters worse, their support responses often take days. What’s especially frustrating is that Fab has removed essential features from both Sketchfab and the Unreal Marketplace. It’s not surprising given they couldn’t even maintain the features from Sketchfab after acquiring it. The lack of these critical tools is a major downgrade.
I agree, for me the most frustrating issue is the lack official response regarding the community feedback.
Both clients and sellers made it very clear written reviews, Q&A and wishlist features are essential features for a trustworth online store, but these complaints are being ignored for some reason.
They say the wishlist is expected to be added in the future, when it should have being migrated and ready to use from day one. But the worst part is the absolutely silence about the lack of written reviews, even after all the backlash from the community.
Not listening to your customers is one of the major issues of the gaming industry in the past few years. Ignoring the feedback will not make the issue go away, it will only affects the customer trust on Epic Games.
No it does not. Epic knows this was a public window to harassment and bullying to lower prices else they would trash products in the Q&A section . The solution is the standard pre-answered Q&A with Buyers only able to read questions, NOT POSTING. Just like any website and company does it.
Honestly this is the worst place I have ever used, the browser sucks, the search sucks, the design sucks, I can’t even select or search, the data filler is so bad it can’t solve any problem, there is nothing useful, I really don’t understand if they have anyone doing UX, do they survey users when designing, do they know about design or do they have quality testing, I feel like this is a patchwork product trying to launch something new, there is no respect for the user. I feel so stuck, bad day for Fab!
I’ve seen you complaining about this a lot on different threads. I was a little confused because out of the thousands of questions I’ve looked at over the years I haven’t seen a single one that could be described as harassment. Nor have I seen any other sellers complain about it. But looking at your profile I understand. I could find higher quality assets under the free section at CG Trader. It reminds me of the stuff I made when I was like 14 and I’m embarrassed that I even thought that was worth showing off on forums. Heck I could go on Fiverr right now and get custom models at better quality for half the price. And that comes with full exclusive commercial rights.
And yet even if they were standard quality your pricing is still several times above industry standard. I’m willing to bet most of the “harassment” was just people giving you a reality check. I mean really you’re charging $100 - $400 for a few assets that look like they were pulled straight out of a '90’s game, what do you expect?
Okay sorry for being blunt, I’m not trying to “harass” you. I wouldn’t normally go in on someone like this especially when you’re probably a young/new artist just trying to make some extra money but you keep trying to push this false narrative that the Questions section was plagued with rampant harassment. It’s not a common thing, you’re an extremely rare case because your assets are significantly below the average quality while being significantly above the average price. And most of those people were probably just trying to help (like me). If you have so may potential customers telling you the same thing, they’re probably right.
Imagine you have a restaurant and you’re trying to sell a ham and cheese sandwich for $50. And it’s not even good we’re talking the cheapest white bread that’s super dry with some kraft singles and cheap deli meat that’s past its expiration. A lot of people come in and when they see the price for a rather sad looking sandwich they tell you you’re crazy. Especially when they find out you’re charging $10 for a glass of water. And yes some will be impolite about it. But the solution isn’t to ban people from talking in your restaurant.
If you can’t handle a little criticism, you shouldn’t be selling things. Every single other seller I’ve seen post about it is upset the questions are gone. You should accept that it’s not a universal problem, it’s just you.
