FAB Needs a listing merger/splitter

As the name says, we need a way to include multiple versions of the product in the same listing, or some way to merge or split them at will.

Everything beforehand was split between Smart Objects and 3D, and now everything moved on to the 3D part. Well, this just makes a mess of everyone’s listings who had to make a listing for both of them to improve the product discoverability.

The issue lies when we cannot just delete one of the listings as there are already some people who bought the pack. This makes me unable to just merge everything into a single one, since I don’t have any way to provide the clients that did bought the products that was going to be erased a “free voucher” for the new one.

Let’s say that FAB sometime just opt to open up a “Unreal Engine” Section with the characters and everything else in it later like the UE marketplace that we had (which would be much better, btw) and for some reason we can’t just move it from 3D into that category. That would require pretty much a 3rd listing to people who want to be included there, who moved from Smart Objects to 3D and are now stuck to the 3D part. What about the ppl that bought when it was moved into 3D?

I know we can just move the category of the product at will, but these do not apply to people who already have no other option but to have multiple listings in different categories.

If I just nuke one of the product listings, I’m afraid that everyone who bought it will be at a loss, and I wouldn’t blame them to just lash out on the creator for that. I’m having the decency to at least come here to ask for a workaround on this issue, but IM SURE that there are going to be several other sellers that would just don’t care about them.

FAB staff, please, take a look at this. It would be great to have a positioning about this particular problem, which was created when you guys made that unholy category of Smart Assets.

Thanks

Make sure to write the support team an email.

I am even surprised that you were able to upload the same asset multiple times but to different categories.
From FAB’s perspective, I would assume this is not allowed for sellers to duplicate all their assets to all categories to increase discoverability because it turns to a mess for buyers.

Though I understand that FABs categories are bad and force sellers to such actions.

Either way, for the asset listing that stays, you can request keys that your clients can redeem.

It was their workaround to the issue back them. I’ve made one with the unreal files and other one with just the fbx/textures, a little bit cheaper.

We can’t make variations like Artstation (for some reason), so that’s mostly why i did that. It’s good to know that a ticket could provide me with redeem codes or something, but shouldn’t the variation thing be something that we should get by default? I mean, we’re not only dealing with .uassets anymore

You can add different asset formats under the same asset listing. Though, you can’t set individual prices for each format.
