FAB library categories are broken.

Summary

The list where you can sort characters, vfx etc. is broken. It does not show all the assets anymore just a few which is wrong (all the assets still show up under all products despite it saying a much lower value than the actual one)

This makes it next to impossible to find any assets now as I can’t just select character, vfx etc.

Additional Notes

Tried signing in and out but didn’t seem to help. Not sure when this started happening, just noticed today when I wanted to look for some characters. As you can see in my screenshot I have way more assets than the 13 listed.

I also made sure no filters are on, they’re all turned off.

Can confirm this has happened to me too. Happens on both the site and the FAB plugin, which ironically I was trying to use to properly load some FAB only/non-launcher 3D assets into my project.

mptoms:

  • The numbers shown next to each library category (Characters, VFX, Environments, etc.) are wrong.
  • When I open a category, only very few assets are displayed, most of my owned assets are missing from category view.
  • Everything works correctly when switching to All products, all library assets show up there.

Troubleshooting I’ve performed with no success:

  1. Reset all filters and clear search terms
  2. Click refresh in the in-editor Fab window
  3. Log out and re-login Epic account inside Unreal Editor
  4. Test on Fab website in private browser window

The same issue appears both inside the UE Fab plugin and the Fab web library. Assets are still owned and searchable by name, this appears to be a backend category indexing problem rather than asset loss.

Same issue here. I have over 1,000 assets, but the category counts only show a few dozen. I can only see all my assets under ‘All products’. This is definitely a backend indexing issue

I’m having the same problem. I have around 10,000 assets in my Fab library, and I can no longer properly access or browse my collection.

The problem isn’t limited to the Fab website. I’m experiencing the exact same issue on the Epic Games Launcher. On both platforms, I can’t properly browse or access the items I already own.

I have forwarded this to the team so they can investigate.

Can you please provide a screenshot of both the “All Products” screen and another one with a category filter?

Do you have an idea of when this started happening?

Good question, I have no idea as I haven’t browsed my assets recently. I would say at least a few days but probably more.

If I search for something like animations it could look like this, I see a lot in the list but only one in the category.

The team was able to identify this was caused by an intermittent issue.

A fix was deployed, but it may take a little while for it to propagate fully.

Thank you all for your report!
