Fab is not showing up anywhere at all.

I think my initial solution was not much clear. Let me explain:

  1. Quit Epic Game Launcher (note that you need to quit from Windows tray, just closing it is not enough).
  2. On Windows explorer, go to this folder: "C:\ProgramData\Epic\EpicGamesLauncher\Data\Manifests"
  3. You see some files with extension *.item. These files are text files and you can open them with Notepad. Open them one by one until you find the one that has “Fab UE Plugin” and “UE_5.8”.
  4. In the file you found, you will see “CompleteManifestPath” which points to a file that does not exist on your computer. for example it could be "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.8\.egstore\D281E2099B041A5F83B6313C78A51F4.manifest", copy "D281E2099B041A5F83B6313C78A51F4" from this path (it is actually the name of the file you just opened).
  5. Go to the path you found in the previous step, in my example "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.8\.egstore". Here you see some *.manifest files. One of these files must be renamed to what you had previously copied (in my example "D281E2099B041A5F83B6313C78A51F4"). So the new name becomes "D281E2099B041A5F83B6313C78A51F4.manifest".
We don’t know which file must be renamed and you need to do this by trial and error. If you see a manifest with size of 377kb, try that first.
  6. Run Epic Game Launcher again as Admin and remove the problematic plugins. Then in the library, search for Fab and install from there.
