Summary
Sellers are uploading gallery images which are 1080p or higher, but Fab is only displaying downscaled 720p versions in the image gallery for most listings regardless of display size and internet speed.

Steps to Reproduce

Go to any asset listing. This issue is impacting most, but not all, asset listings from what I’ve noticed. I have linked an asset where this issue is occurring at the time of submitting this report.

Click the arrows on the top right of an image in the image gallery to make sure you’re viewing the largest size Fab will display for you. Using a higher resolution monitor will help make the issue more apparent.

For most assets this image will look blurry as Fab is displaying the image at a larger resolution than it truly is.

Right click → Open image in new tab.

From here you’ll see most asset listings are only displaying these images at 720p despite the seller having uploaded higher res images. You may even notice a 1 pixel wide discolored border around the edge of the image as an artifact of the downscaling process, although this can be difficult to see.
Expected Result
The asset preview images be displayed at the full resolution the seller uploaded them at so that we can see all the details the seller intended.
Observed Result
Most asset listing’s preview images are displaying only a 720p downscaled version of the images the seller had uploaded.

I have asked around and other people are experiencing the same issue on the same asset listings.

I’ve also heard 1080p is the minimum image resolution Fab allows for thumbnails and images sellers upload. I’m not a seller myself, so I can’t confirm. However, if that is the case, then we know every listing this issue is happening to is not the result of the seller only uploading 720p images.
Some of my guesses as to what could be the cause:

One possibility is that uploading images over a certain file size or of a certain file type is only getting converted to a 720p jpg while not creating an original image sized jpg as well.

I believe Fab generates lower resolution images for all gallery images which may be displayed for users with low resolution displays or possibly slow internet. Another possibility is that there’s some bug with this functionality which is causing only the low res 720p versions to be displayed on most, but not all, asset listings.
Maybe something there helps brainstorm what the issue could truly be.
