FAB Assets v Cost

Assets for sale in FAB is very expensive when everything is in US$ when selling in Australia. For example, if an asset on FAB is shown as $50.00, then in fact it will cost $88.00 (being the foreign exchange and Aust. GST tax). I would agree that this is not entirely EPIC’s problem, but it does not help that the FAB website uses $ without telling consumers that this is very different in Australia. I would like to see EPIC tone down the cost some there is some parity between US and Aust $ assets. If not, then it should make clear about the actual cost in Australia $ up front, if only so that it is misleading to Aust consumers.

Hi @Hairy_Primate , thanks for your message. Publishers on Fab are the ones who set prices for their products, not Epic, as you know. As a result, any adjustments to product pricing would be in the publishers’ hands.

To your point about making the price in the relevant currency clearer, I’ll let the team know. A few countries use “$” to mark their currency, so it would indeed be helpful for us to specify whether the price that’s being displayed is in USD, CAD, AUD, etc.

For now, though, the correct price and currency should always display in your cart when you are logged in.

International contracts “$” is denoted “AU$” where the currency is to the Australian dollar. However, more important is that consumers in Australia need the price. This is because “$” will be implied when sold in that country. The website should be Australian prices (whether $ or AU$). Using US$ could be used to show that prices are to the United States, but this would look strange in some settings and not solve the problem i.e. the price read by consumers in Australia. Consumers in Australia should not need or want to convert US$ price to Australian prices every time they decide whether to purchase a product.
