If you go into Epic Games Launcher and update to version 17.0 when you click ā€œUnreal Engineā€
The ā€œFabā€ tab has replaced the Marketplace tab.

In Unreal Engine Fortnite, the tab marked Fab was for the Alpha version of Fab and will be fixed later in UEFN update.

So you are saying that there is a 17.1? that will have the FAB not be alpha that will connect with UEFN. If so any word on when that is?

so basic UEFN will be updated with a fix right for the fab bit?

When Fortnite/UEFN is updated probably at 32.00 onward, the FAB ALPHA link will be FABā€™s final page.

Epic Games Launcher version 17.0 is the latest support FAB without the need to run UEFN.
If you have Automatic Update enabled in the Epic Games Launcher then open the Launcher and restart after the update.

Yes, I understand what youā€™re saying, but now if I open FAB from the EpicGames launcher, when I want to add a ā€œpackā€ that I bought in editable FAB (Alpha), for UEFN, it ends up telling me to go to the UEFN FAB to installā€¦ and the UEFN Alpha FAB does NOT connect.

same if it let us download it from the web and import it

it would be easy but they wanna make things soo hard for no reason

The Fab integration in UEFN is undergoing maintenance and will be back online shortly, and the Fab integration in the Unreal Engine 5 Editor is coming soon.

UPDATE ALL THIS IS FIXED IN 32.00 AND IS NOW CLOSED

In an attempt to find out why References this was failing in UEFN 31.41.

I started the Metahuman Importer from File Menu - > Window at the bottom panel of Metahuman Importer.

** Leave the Metahuman Importer RUNNING at all times Click Minimize**

There was a lot of screen flickering and eventually, the Metahuman importer started.

Next, Exit UEFN from the Menu, leaving Metahuman RUNNING.
Start UEFN again when the Project Menu Browse and find your project.uefnproject.

The ā€œDownloading Reference Contentā€
In Windows Task Manager click on Wifi/Network and watch for network traffic

Eventually, the normal screen now opens

In Content Browser look for the previous Reference content

Metahuman Import must be running/working minimized

This is a POSSIBLE WORKAROUND; itā€™s not a fix and ONLY works on References made after 30 May 2024.

This WONT work with old versions of Refences the project before June 2024
