Extract coordinates from local coordinate system

Hi,

Context: I have model made from non georeferenced dataset. I want to use coordinates from known positions like corner of the building or similar, use that coordinates as control points or ground control points, and reuse same coordinates to place newer verisons of the model in same coordinate system. This would be used to monitor changes over time.

What is the right aproach here, I was thinking to set project to Local/Euclidian, creating 4 control points and conver them to GCP, export it, and finaly use it in every new project. Is this it or is there better solution?

Thanks

Hello Rango,
that’s basically it. You will just set the GCP’s coordinates properly. Do you want to use real measurement or coordinates from RealityCapture? If from RealityCapture, then you will need to copy/paste the actual position of the control point to GCP (but this doesn’t mean that the model will be scaled properly. For that you’ll need to use the actual measurements)

Hi Ondrej,

I want to achieve correct scale, could you go into more details?

You will need to use one of the scaling methods: Architecture reconstruction scale - #2 by OndrejTrhan
