EXTILE was created to eliminate the ugly repetitiveness associated with tiling textures. Using random noise algorithms it can eliminate repetitiveness in both geometric and organic type textures. EXTILE PLUS is the more powerful iteration of the basic EXTILE material. It now allows you to create many surface effects that would otherwise require more complicated workflows giving you endless possibilities with just one material and one texture set. In addition it now offers you the option to use a 4 quadrant atlas texture.

It comes with a plethora of new capabilities including grout definition; differentiating the grout area from the texture surface giving you more realism and control when applying effects. Random color variations with band mask effects, multiple detailed cutout effects including the ability to automatically add a surface backside with optional texture and dirt mask parameters, create both texture based or texture-less random displacement effects, a UV pattern generator allowing you to create different geometric patterns including chevron style and geometric style patterns as well as circular configurations, the ability to add a second texture set with its own parameters, height based dirt and z-up puddle effects, texture baking capabilities and more.

Finally all of EXTILE’s functionality has been dissected into modular material functions allowing you to create your own non-repetitive materials. You can also optionally work directly with the Megascans live link.
