Hi there, we create 3D real-time configurators and would like to offer our clients the option to export a video of an environment after it’s been configured. This is a feature that was requested by our clients. So far, we can only offer screenshot, but no video export.
We know, how to export videos from the UE4 editor via the sequencer’s “render movie” and that there’s a launch parameter “-dumpvideo” which exports a video straight upon launch. But what can we do to let people…
A) …export videos from within the packaged app e.g. via console command to allow people to share their experience, and/or
B) …export a video of a pre-defined cam sequence from within a packaged project?
Capturing via a third party app such as FRAPS is not really an option, as this over-complicates the process and requires the people who work with our configurators to have a lot of media/IT knowledge. What we’re looking for is an easy-to-use video export.
