Is there a reason Epic choose not to allow users to export/import lightmaps? In a recent test scene i had to bake an extra 2 hours to fix a dark spot that could have been manually fixed in 10 seconds in a paint program.
Lightmaps have a directional component as well, which there isn’t anything that can edit those properly
from what i’ve seen looking at the baked lightmaps in ue4 both the colour and directionality of my renders could easily be fixed manually by spot healing the problem areas; it cant be that hard to give the user the choice, the bitmaps are there.
AFIAK I think it was possible to do this in UDK, hopefully in future builds they can implement this.
