exporting .fbx from Blender and Importing in UE 5.4

When exporting from Blender to .obj and then importing into UE 5.4 I don’t get smooth edges but rather black polygons. The export of the fbx seems fine after exporting it from Blender though.

Probably something on how the material is imported obj vs FBX.
That should be transparent / masked around the leaves.

I agree, but after exporting the .obj from Blender I can view it with windows 3d viewer and it’s fine. It’s only on importing it into UE 5.4.

Do you have the obj, textures and mtl file so I can have a look?

My best guess is that the material in Unreal doesn’t have anything connected to the opacity, and/or the material itself is Opaque

Need to set it to masked, or transparent, then be sure to connect the alpha channel of that texture to the opacity of the material (or opacity mask)

The texture either doesn’t have an alpha channel, or the transparency isn’t connected in the material in Unreal Engine.

That could be an issue related to how it was exported, or how it was imported.
