Exporting character from Blender to Unreal new root bone is being added

So I have this cool character that I want to import to my project. However, when I import the .fbx file and apply the skelleton mesh on any animation, the animation is turned so the character runs beneath the floor.

So my next aproach was to import the .fbx file into blender and change the facing direction from -X to Y as it should be for Unreal. (I got the Asset from the Unity Assets store and aparently the facing direction in unity is -X)

So, after Importing the .fbx file into Blender and exporting it back with the correct facing direction and the Add Leaf Bones UNCHECKED, it still adds a new root bone.

I am now sitting here and after 5 hours, 4 different Blender versions, 20 forum posts and 5 youtube videos and still get the new f… root bone.

Blender Version: 4.2
Unreal Engine: 5.4
