Exporting and Reimporting FaceMesh, does this cause issues?

I’m looking at finding ways to reduce MetaHuman file sizes and it seems that exporting and reimporting the FaceMesh.FBX reduces it from 344mb down to 74mb. This is great but I can’t figure out if it’s losing anything in the process (Surely 3/4 of the size isn’t lost without a reason.) Has anyone else tried this? Do you know what gets removed and if they’re still useable?

Yep it never ever works out for me.

The export/import is not bidirectional anyway, you’ll screw up something 99.9999% of the times.
Usually materials are the main culprit but in the absolute madness of metahumans I suspect pretty much all the blend shapes will be bodged for some reason unknown to humanity :slight_smile:

They seem to keep the morph targets from what I can see, but I totally agree. Everything is so overly complex trying to edit anything is such a nightmare.
