A NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) will have to be signed before further details can be given to likely candidates. Also, time crunch given project will be pushed on Kickstarter so interviews will be held ASAP. If you are interested please do not hesitate to reach out!

Thank you for your time and look forward to speaking with you!

Does that mean royalty/percentage based instead of flat fee or fixed rate? If so, please change the thread prefix from [CONTRACT/PAID] to ROYALTY.

If your method of paying people is by crowdfunding alone, you should probably think twice about it before moving further. (at least that’s how it reads from the content of your post)
I’m saying this because while you really seem to ask a lot from the ones you’d want as part of your team, your strategy to pay them sounds very unprofessional at best.

Paying Royalty from crowd founding it’s almost impossible in normal terms. Crowdfunding is mainly about getting money to finance the project forward (the reason people pay for that is to see it finished), not to pay debts (debts people pledging haven’t been part of nor they have to pay for you). What do you do if crowdfunding takes longer, what if you can’t secure crowdfunding or what if you don’t get enough funds, what would everybody get then, how is the project going to move forward and meet everything the crowd funding campaign promised? Probably over 80% of the games applying for crowd funding don’t actually manage to succeed and these are games that are mainly asking for the lowest price they can afford to only make the game.
I’m not against people trying to do what they can to succeed but please stop using crowdfunding as incentives, there almost zero chances you could finance a project by crowdfunding only, if you need to pay back debts gathered before the campaign.

This isn’t a contract or paid position, re-label it.

Waste of time to read it, it’s a deceptive heading.

I think you should re-read your post first.

Who is this addressed at?

Can you share the reasons for why that is so?

The OP…

Obviously… I he asking a for an experienced developer with a huge skill-set who can work under pressure give updates, crunch time etc etc etc…
Then in this

Huge time waste reading all that…

Hello ,

This is a contract/paid position, not for royalty position. If I would change the prefix to royalty (meaning applicant would be getting royalties) that would be misleading. Legally I cannot discuss terms of individual contracts to openly. Only qualified candidates have a signed NDA, as well as went through the interview process.

Thank you for your time,

Hello Eudrea,

Legally, I am unable to discuss in further detail to open about contracts. If you would like to know more information and are qualified then please send previous work experience & examples of your work to . After a NDA has been signed, and you have been in the interview process is when and only when these terms can be discussed, again legally.

We appreciate your thoughts, concerns & opinions, but if you’re uninterested in this position then there is no need to express your disconcern, or legal advice for our post & our contracts.

Thank you,

Hello Mikepurvis,

This is a contract/paid position. does not share the same expressed view point or opinions. They are of your own. Re-labeling it would be misleading as this is what this position entails, a contract.

Thank you for your concern & opinions,

Yes, you can. You may choose not to – that’s very different from what you can “legally” do. (Not that this is legal advice.)

Anyway, someone reading this thread may draw certain conclusions about why you’ve “gone through many programmers.” If you’d like to actually attract qualified candidates, you may want to address that concern, which currently seems like a big red flag.

It’s the based on a distinct compensation agreement regarding crowd funding that means, this is not paid. If you could pay, you would just have said it because that would attract more people, instead you are being cryptic, which is stupid because you are trying to attract programmers who for the most part are extremely smart and detail oriented. The NDA is for your content, work done for, and IP. Trying to hide the contract terms in an NDA is extremely telling of itself, if it was a good deal you would be sharing it.

Why did all your programmers leave?

Edit: Check out this thread if you still don’t understand why all the questions from programmers: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?31395-Scam-Reports-amp-Tips

To anyone reading this:

If you have to sign an NDA to get general terms for a contract, run away, run far away.

Exceptions to this are government contracts, those can be (but not frequently) completely different.

If someone wants to talk to you before discussing terms, that is one thing, but never agree to any legal paper that encourages pay secrecy for any company in the United States.

Hello ,

If you don’t understand what an NDA is please do your own research. For your personal and business future.

The NDA (nondisclosure agreement) is to allow qualified candidates to view unreleased information & specific’s to the game being currently developed during the interview process. This is for when above mentioned qualified candidates are in the interview process they don’t steal, use or recreate intellectual proprieties and or related materials shown to them for their specific job role(s). No where in there was mention of individual contract.

The specifics of individual contracts are that based upon individual basis. In basic terminology you aren’t legally allowed to discuss your contract with others because it’s a legal binding contract. We understand and have taken into consideration your view points & personal opinions expressed.

  • does not share personal view points or opinions expressed from person or otherwise non affiliated members that have posted on this post*

Thank you for your opinions & expressing your concerns.

hi all, don’t make such a fuss, if you’re interested just do your research.

all - wish ya luck on your project!

The advertisement on CryEngine suggests the previous hire of a Game Designer was royalty based.

Due to the lack information chosen to be given you can only assume it’s the same for this. Them full well knowing that a Royalty based contract is not enough to get a Programmer excited especially a Programmer with the criteria they’re asking for.

Thank you to everyone that inquired for this position, but the position has now been filled.

Thank you for everyone that reached out regarding the project. We will keep everyones contact information on file for future projects.

Thanks & all the best,

looks like they were using unity at one point in development. Now they have switched to UE based on publicly available information.
