Expericing fetal crashes and corrupted geometry with UE 5.5.1

Hello,

I’m currently experiencing fatal crashes when trying to reopen a specific project I’m working on. I’m using a USD file pipeline from Blender into UE 5.5.1 and importing elements into segments due to the 10.5 GB file size. The process was smooth until I saved everything and closed and reopened the program showing the following error message:

USD file segments exported from Blender and into UE which caused no crashes and imported correctly into the UE file:

From my limited understanding, it looks like an asset is corrupted? If so, this raises another issue of finding the specific object within my files. I’ve attempted to copy the file path which didn’t result in finding the item, I then tried to copy elements of the name such as ‘D8BBC18A56293C3802’ both where the file is saved and across my entire hard drive, but still no luck!

I’ve also tried to reimport the USD files into a new project 3 different times as a test, but the error message persists, usually listing a different corrupted asset?

Just checking up to see if anyone found a solution? So far it from my research it seems to be an issue when using USD files/piplines. I guess for now FBX needs to be used!

Hey there @Psychitect272! Welcome to the community! I believe this has to do with the total size of the asset, as with full USD files of smaller sizes I can’t replicate the issue at all. Does this occur with small file sizes and partial USD files?
