EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0x0000025a62710030

Bug screenshot
I’ve got a problem in Twinmotion EDU Preview 2023.1. When I:

a) change graphic settings (medium to low, medium to high, etc.)

b) try to change from DirectX12 to 11

c) open my projects

d) set up a new scene with predefined setups (like architectural on a desert)

the program crashes suddenly and outputs:

“Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0x000001df1f2f0030”

I need help with this. I read through the forums and I:

a) updated my GPU drivers

b) updated my DirectX12, .NET, installed SDK

c) played with Nvidia Control Panel Settings, restored, changed anti-aliasing, everything that is suggested online

d) restarted the computer far too many times

e) deleted webcache of Epic Games Launcher

I managed to solve it for a short period of time by opening Twinmotion directly from C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Twinmotion2023.1EDU/Twinmotion.exe and not from Epic Games. This morning it started crashing from this file as well. Thank you for answering.

I attach bug report file.

My computer specs:

Win11,

Amd Ryzen 5800

RTX 3050Ti

16GB RAM

Twinmotion.log (173.0 KB)

Hi ,

It appears that this crash is related to your GPU. Your GPU is actually below our minimum requirements (the 3050 Ti Laptop GPU only has 4GB of VRAM and a benchmark score of 9,972 compared to our minimum recommendations of 6GB of VRAM and a benchmark core of 10,000) which can cause instability and crashing. The lack of VRAM, in particular seems to be causing the problem.

Unfortunately, we can't guarantee any stability without upgrading your GPU. Some things that may be helpful to try, however, are to follow the steps in the Twinmotion is not visible after splash screen article, which resets Twinmotion to a default configuration.

You can try to force Twinmotion to launch with DirectX 11 by editing the file at "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Twinmotion\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini"

Adding the following two lines to the end of the file will force Twinmotion to use DirectX 11 rendering:

[TMUserSettings] PreferredRHI=DX11

Lastly, trying an older version of Twinmotion may help, as older versions may not be as taxing on the hardware.

Best,

Raghib

Hello 👋, This is my issue too...my specs with RTX 3050Ti, 4GB so which version would you recommend?
