EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION and Win64_Shipping Crash for all Unreal Games

Since November every single one of my Unreal games has been crashing. They all have EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (the numbers are different everytime), Win64_Shipping errors, and kernel32 ntdll errors. The VCRUNTIME140 is new. I’ve tried just about everything from multiple different forums and still can’t find a fix. My system is

  • B650I AORUS Ultra
  • Processor AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor, 4701 Mhz, 6 Core
  • 32 GB RAM
  • GPU AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
    Graphics Drivers are AMD Adrenaline

This game in particular, Hydroneer, seems to be using UE4

I can’t attach my minidump file at this time.

Found an answer. Most solutions to adding games as an exception to DEP didn’t work except for this:

Games work perfectly fine now!
