when i hit play the player falls down to empty space
Check its not set to play from current camera location, if its not then your problem is with where the player start is… move it up a bit or resize it if your character is larger than the player start
If nither of those is the probelm your either missing a ground object with collision or will have to provide more detail preferably via pictures
