Hi again @alerender,

So nice to see more of your work. Hope you’ve been well

The animation in this is just mind blowing. Such incredible talent displayed not only in the character movements themselves but also in the facial expressions. The subtleties always impress me the most with your projects. How long did this rad project take you?

Thanks for your support. The whole project up to this point, around 3 years. It involves learning Unreal as I go along. In other words, I don’t do it full-time. It’s outside my work hours, part of the learning process… It would be hard to pinpoint how much time a full-time episode might take, but in reality, assembling everything in Unreal is quite fast.

If you don’t mind, what inspired you to learn Unreal in the first place? I always love hearing a “beginning point” story

Yesterday, I actually uploaded a video on my channel where I talked about that process. It’s in Spanish, but let me summarize it for you here: I used to work as a Motion Graphics designer (which involves graphic animation with After Effects), but I didn’t enjoy it. So, I created EVA 1 using 3D within After Effects. I liked the result, but it obviously lacked everything to become a true 3D animated world. That’s when I discovered Unreal and was fascinated, firstly by its real-time rendering engine, extensive marketplace stock, and how easy it was for me to learn on my own. Later, I also started learning Reallusion software. This allowed me to create a workflow where I could learn while producing episodes. It eventually enabled me to switch to a job more related to what I enjoy. In other words, tackling a project with Unreal helped me enter the world of 3D animation creators.

I only recently really started looking into AE and all that it can do, it’s definitely an interesting software. I can see how it lead to Unreal. Thanks for taking the time to give me your story

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to seeing your next project
