Whilst doing a model using the Start button (set to high parameters) the workflow crashed with this message: “Error Parsing or Executing Command Line Batch”, then underneath “unknown command 'RestartByRestartManager: (a long line of code) in the application command line. Is it a feature request or a typo? [err:7180].”
I have also done individual work stages and it seems to occur at the reconstruction at high quality stage.
This has happened twice now on a model needing several hours of processing, which is very depressing. I cannot get past this issue. I have searched through posts and help section without a solution found.
What kind of dataset are you processing? What are the specs of your PC? Which version of RealityCapture are you running? please can you check if you can run all of your processes on this small dataset.
Hi Wallace, it is a 1500 image digital photograph dataset from a macro enabled not very new (6mega pixel?) DSLR. I will get the specs of the PC and advise. I will also try the dataset provided. It is a RC version very recently downloaded - last week some time.
Please check if you are using 14258 or 15012. If it’s the former please update (via incognito in case it’s still cached) and try again. We released a new patch last week.
I did have an earlier issue where I was typically running out of memory. I changed where the cache is held onto a 2TB HD and changed the Windows pagefile limit. that seems to have addressed that issue. but i now have the new issue.
This error normally means that for some reason your computer has restarted whilst RealityCapture was running, and you would normally get this message when RealityCapture starts up again. Have you witnessed the restart happening? Please can you check to see if your computer has restarted without you choosing to do so?
21 hours and counting. Progress bar only half way across, but hasn’t crashed. Is this a typical length of time to model something of this size at high quality?
It can be, there was a freezing issue in 14258, but that should be fixed now in the latest version. Check that your ETA is not before the actual time, that can be a sign that it has frozen. Also you can make one of your views a console view and you should be able to see the current process, but this needs doing before you set off the calculation. You can see which version you are using by clicking on the question mark at the top right of the screen
Also if windows has been restarting halfway through a calculation, it may be worth clearing the cache as described here, and also hold down shift whilst launching RC and select “make like a clean install”
Did you found any solution finally? I have the same problem, RC stop running every 10 min with the same message even with the version 15122.
i use Seven 64bit
soft installed on my C: HDD and use a 256Gb SSD for cache memory.
GTX 1070 graphic card
24Gb ram
The error 'RestartByRestartManager: is mostly displayed when during processing your windows will restart due to running the update. Did you have windows update during this computation? When this happens it’s best to clear the cache and start the calculation again, and make sure all windows updates are done, and that no other processes on your PC are likely to kill RC. Also make sure that your system clock is set correctly.
Hello thx for your fast answer ! I have selected Quick start 3D with guide ( 1st time on this software) but it stop running very often. Not only when i try to calculate… Every several minutes whatever the step.I think in 10minutes the chance to have an update are thin, i stayed on my computer since i’m learning the help tutorial and no updates. And the clock system i set to my time zone thanks to time.windows.com.
I’ll open it and note the time when the soft crash, maybe it could be helpful ?
