Error, "Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource"

I get this error when I launch the editor, it has the little loading screen and then the error pops up. The only reason why I think it does this is because I have 6GB of RAM when you should have at least 8GB. Even then the software should still run unless it won’t support any amount lower than that. If that’s the case then I would have to buy a better computer -_-

Isn’t video memory related to your graphic card? What graphic card do you use?
How much GB Ram does it have?

I have an Intel HD Graphics 3000, up to 1760MB Dynamic Video memory.

So an onboard card? That’s most likely the problem. You need a better
graphic card i guess

I bought my laptop in 2009, I was thinking maybe getting an Alienware laptop, it is a little old.

It’s up to you what you want to pay, but i won’t buy an alien laptop.

Ask around in the community if you really want a Laptop. There are better prized laptops around the market.
I always recommend PCs if it’s possible, because you will get much more and better hardware for the same hardware. Portable hardware is expensive.

So basically a modern desktop?

Yop, modern engine requires a modern desktop. (: Or a modern laptop but that’s just a question of money.

Alright, thanks. ^-^

I’m having the same problem. I’ve been working with UE4 for months without any problem and now suddenly it crashes. I have an i-7, 16gb RAM and a GTX 960. Any idea?
