Error importing NavVis lidar data into RealityCapture

Hi, I am currently trying to import lidar data from a NavVis system into RealityCapture v1.1, and was unable to make it work.

The NavVis system is exporting an unstructured .e57 and a .ply file with the pointclouds, as well as a set of hi-red image panoramas. I was able to visualize the pointclouds in third party apps like MeshLab or Blender but didn’t manage to import them to RC or convert them to a format that RC can read.

The .e57 import doesn’t throw any errors but nothing seems to get importing. Attempting the .ply import gives the following error:

 

Any feedback on a recommended workflow would be appreciated.

The data, which are imported into RC have to be structured/ordered. Which means every capture has a position as a camera in space and provides that to RC. There are some people who found a workaround, but in the standard way, you would not be able to get such data into our software unfortunately.
