I haven’t found a solution yet, but one person mentions a workaround over in this other thread about the same problem: Recruiting guards causes the Fortnite recruitment prompt to bug out. - #2 by Shabuway
I’ve added so many guard spawners that I get the bug every single time an auto-hire happens.
