Hello,
I’ve installed 4.9 version first and got this error message in message log:
Error /Game/FirstPersonBP/Maps/FirstPersonExampleMap : Failed import for SkeletalMeshComponent /Game/FirstPersonBP/Blueprints/FirstPersonCharacter.FirstPersonCharacter_C:SkeletalMesh_GEN_VARIABLE
So, I’ve installed also 4.10 version and… got SAME ERROR!!!
What can I do?
Hey ludomedia,
This was a known issue with First Person template 4.9, but we believe it was fixed for 4.10. Did you create a new project in 4.10 and see this, or was it same project you created in 4.9 and converted over to 4.10?
Hello ,
Thanks for your answer. So, I’ve created a new project in 4.10 and error message disappears.
But unfortunately, it seems there is something wrong with my installation.
I’m an absolute newbie, so I want to use tutorials. I start second one called “Blueprint first person template overview”. Normally, each step of tutorial highlight a part of screen to show which tool is concerned. But when I arrive to step “Animation blueprint” (and next), nothing highlight, as if matching tool was not installed on my pc???
Any idea?
You’re not missing any tools. There’s a problem with that tutorial where it’s simply not showing you where appropriate asset is in Content Browser. I’ll speak with folks in our Docs department and get that adjusted for a future engine version. You can still find that file in Content Browser under Animations. I believe next few sections of that tutorial are going to have same problem, but assets should be there. Let me know if you have any trouble finding them.
