Error creating new UE4 4.9 FirstPersonBlueprint project

Every time I create new First Person Blueprint project from UE4 4.9, I get this error.

Error /Game/FirstPersonBP/Maps/FirstPersonExampleMap : Failed import for SkeletalMeshComponent /Game/FirstPersonBP/Blueprints/FirstPersonCharacter.FirstPersonCharacter_C:SkeletalMesh_GEN_VARIABLE

How to fix this error? What exactly is this error?

Thanks.

Having the same issue here!

On UE 4.9.1 i get this error

Error /Game/FirstPersonBP/Maps/FirstPersonExampleMap : Failed import for SkeletalMeshComponent /Game/FirstPersonBP/Blueprints/FirstPersonCharacter.FirstPersonCharacter_C:SkeletalMesh_GEN_VARIABLE

This problem is still not solved. Any quick fix would be appreciated.

This error was reported nearly two months ago and no fix yet? I just upgraded to 4.9.2 and I get the exact same issue.

Is there really no fix for this?

There is another thread here - but is also has no solution:

Please help. Thanks so much!

I have been monitoring this issues progress.

The consensus is that the error appears when adding the First Person Code feature pack that is native to this Blueprint project.

I still have this error message in 4.9.2.

This appears fixed in 4.10 preview 2.

Could you open a new FP BP in 4.10 preview 2 and verify that for me.

Thanks,

Yes its fixed in 4.10 preview but still issue in 4.9

yes fixed in 4.10 preview
