Error Code: IS-MF01 on MacOS - Cannot install Twinmotion.

Hello, I'm receiving the following when I attempt to download and install TwinMotion, through the Epic Games Loader.

Error Code: IS-MF01.

A file access error has occurred. Please check your running processes.

I've followed the troubleshooting instructions but have had no luck finding a solution to this issue...

  1. I've deleted startup programs on my Mac.
  2. I've held SHIFT when logging in to my Mac.
  3. I've tried downloading older versions of Twinmotion.

Is there any other solutions I should be trying?

Hello j.mathis and thank you for reaching out.

This issue seems to be related to the Epic Games Launcher.

To be sure, the troubleshooting instructions you have followed without success are the following? :

Mac

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. If you have a login window, do the following:
    1. Hold Shift and click the login button.
    2. Release Shift when you see the Dock.
  3. If you do not have a login window, do the following:
    1. Hold down Shift when the progress bar appears in the startup window.
    2. Release Shift when your desktop appears.

Restarting in this way will start your Mac without starting non-essential login items. If your problem still occurs, it is safe to assume that login items are not the cause of the problem. If the problem seems to be resolved, it is likely that one of the login items is the culprit. In order to isolate the cause, you can delete your login items, then re-add them one at a time until you reproduce the problem.

To check for problematic login items:

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Select Users & Groups.
  3. Select your account's name.
  4. Select Login Items.
  5. Important: Before proceeding, make a list or take a screenshot of all the login items in the resulting list. You will need to have them later in order to add them back.
  6. Select all of the items in the list.
  7. Click Delete.
  8. Restart your computer.

Now that you've deleted all the login items, you will add them back one by one until you can reproduce your problem.

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Select Users & Groups.
  3. Select your account's name.
  4. Select Login Items.
  5. Add the first item from the list you made previously.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Attempt to reproduce your problem. If you are able to do so, the login item you added to the list is most likely the cause of the issue.

Repeat the above steps for each login item on your list until you've isolated the item causing your problem. Once you've done that, delete it again, and make sure to add back any remaining login items from your list.
