Whenever I try to install a Plugin I get Error Code IS-EO-Lnc-BldInfo:Http-403, I re installed the launcher, Unreal, tried logging out from any cookies or cache on the computer resigning in and nothing. Sometimes I click the Install to Engine button and it doesnt even do anything.
What type of bug are you experiencing?
Plugins
Steps to Reproduce
Go to Unreal Engine tab in launcher, go to fab library, and attempt to install a pluging (ANY plugin)
Expected Result
In theory it should install the plugin, it does that on my other computer on a different epic account on the same network
I’ve had this happen with more than one plugin. I tried to install the Diversion Plugin, and a Plugin I made that is on the Fab store. It’s really frustrating.
This has been an issue for the past two days affecting Unreal Engine plugins across the board. Regardless of the engine version or when they were purchased, no plugins can be installed through the Epic Games Launcher.
Before realizing this, I contacted one of the plugin sellers directly, assuming there was a problem with their product, but it turns out the error is not on their end. Despite the scale of this issue, sellers have been left completely in the dark, with no information about the cause or when it will be resolved.
Project deadlines are still approaching and we are unable to access plugins that we have already purchased so I hope there will be a fix soon…
It’s a disaster. I cannot imagine how over so many years a company with such budgets and such a complex engine could not make at least just a working launcher. This is a disgrace and nonsense.
Well, this has thrown quite the (hopefully temporary) wrench in our development. We’re experiencing the same issue across multiple machines and accounts. Praying to the Old Gods that a fix is in our near future.
I accidentally stumbled onto the cause of the problem (in my case, at least). I truly hope this helps everyone out there basking in the sheer magnificence and unrivaled quality of the Epic Games Launcher.
Try running the Epic Games Launcher as administrator - in my case, that solved it.
I have no idea what the bright minds over at Epic changed in the latest update, or why His Majesty the Launcher now demands administrator privileges before deigning to install a single plugin, but apparently that’s the toll we’re paying now.
Hey guys the Run as administrator solution didn’t work for me but I found out that if you can get the plugin from the developer ie… from their discord or from their website and extract the files into your projects local “Plugins” folder whether you need to create a new one or not put it in there (putting plugins in this folder is also how you are able to edit the source code of the plugins). Then just launch your project and enable the plugin under the “Local” tab in plugins restart it and you’re set! Try asking the developer of the plugin to give it to you if it’s not directly available. Good luck
