I have been trying to install the engine ever since I found out about it being free but keep receiving the error 2738. Is it a hardware error or something?

It’s not necessarily a hardware issue, several issues could give you this error. Are you running McAfee? If so try taking a look at this solution: Link
If you don’t have McAffe or the above solution didn’t work, We’ll need installer logs and we’ll go from there. You can find the steps to get installer logs here: Link
