It is my first time using this feature in Unreal, and it is also my first rigged character -I usually work as a environmental artist, so I dont have any idea on how to solve this-
I have this ribbon in Maya, the idea is using both sides as cloth when the character moves. I export it using FBX 2018 with Smoothing groups, centimetre units, animation disabled and axis conversion Up axis Z.
Next I import it into UE4, open the model, Create clothing Data from Section and I get the error
Failed to generate clothing sim mesh due to degenerate triangle, found conincident vertices in triangle A=X=1.292 Y=-12.430 Z=209.662 B=X=1.340 Y=-12.408 Z=-209.686 C=X=0.962 Y=-23.335 Z=150.640
I read about this error but I dont know how to solve it. Back to Maya I tried to use the Cleanup tool without results, merging all overlapping vertices and trying different export/import options.
Any ideas? Im not very good with Maya. If you need or want the model itself for trying just say it.
